Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. She's recorded a variety of well-known cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and have been widely praised. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music as a passion rather than as a job. To achieve this she started writing her own new compositions. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. After her mother said that the songs she composed might not be famous for her, however, but to encourage individuals to recognize the importance of their work and influence on our world at large, she started singing them in public. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order so that people can see their own importance and how they could impact the world. It was unknown to her family members until she turned fourteen. The dream was never to become Aurora. According to her, she just enjoys writing songs. She believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
